Red Mountain Rising travels through all six seasons of a Speedrune year. It begins with strange crop failures, foreshadowing the emergence of a mountain of cinnabar, which is actually a demi-god seeking his old lover. The central tensions of the module revolve around the emergence of this mountain, relations with the cult of furred worms that live within it, and the damage the mountain’s river of mercury will do to your village. In the end, players will attempt to stop the flow of this mercury river by venturing into the mountain’s heart.
